Cecilia "Cece" J. (Pate) Hilley

Cecilia “Cece” J. Pate Hilley, 77, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024, at her home in Tool, Texas with her family present in the days preceding her death. Cece was born on July 6, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Thomas and Martha (Norton) Pate.

Cece was a loving mother, grandmother, and a great-grandmother. She was a loyal and generous friend. In her younger years, she was mom to many neighborhood kids. She was an excellent cook and feeding you was her way of saying “I love you.” She was a true animal lover and always had a home full of pets. In recent years, she enjoyed reading books with her beloved dogs, Bo and Taz, curled up in her lap. She was loved and will be missed by all those who knew her.

Cece is survived by her sister, Roegena Hogan of Trinidad, TX; son, Matt Herrmann and wife Tammy of Tool, TX; son, Todd Herrmann and wife Andrea of Terrell, TX; grandson, Austin Herrmann and wife Haley of College Mound, TX; granddaughter, Brooklynn Archer and husband Justin, Terrell, TX; three great-grandchildren, Avery, Pepper, and Luke, as well as extended family and friends.

We are in the process of arranging Cece’s memorial service and will announce the details soon.
