Larry O. Williams, 81, of Gun Barrel City, went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2025. Larry was born on December 8, 1944, to Darwin Otis and Dorothy Williams in Waxahachie, TX.
Larry grew up in the Wilmer Hutchins area graduating from Wilmer Hutchins High School in 1962. He was an athlete in school, playing football, track, baseball and basketball. He went to Henderson County Jr. College (Trinity Valley Community College) after high school before entering the Air Force and serving his country.
Larry married Alice Williams on July 13, 1968, and they have spent a loving 57 years together. In 1974, they moved to Gun Barrel where they raised their family and made a home. Larry worked for Tex Pack Express as a dock supervisor until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, playing his guitar, and joking around with his buddies. Larry was a hard worker, a very tough man, who could be a character at times. His most precious time was spent with his family. Larry loved his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Larry was a beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, D.O. and Dorothy; brother, Steve Williams; nephew, Britton Williams; and in laws, Bill and Alton Lewis.
Those left to cherish his memory are wife, Alice; children: Shawnn Oliver and husband Darren, Chass Williams; grandchildren: Tyson Oliver and wife Nicole, Chelsea Haggard and husband Drew; great grandson, Wyatt Haggard; brother-in-law, Mike Lewis; nephew, Brandon Williams and wife Tina; great nephew, Joshua; nephew, Casey Williams and daughter Kinleighand; as well as numerous extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held at Lakeview Assembly of God on Saturday December 27, 2025 at 1:00 PM.
