Cecilia Martelo

Cecilia Martelo, 94, of Leesburg, FL, went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2025. Cecilia was born on July 5, 1931 in Cartagena, Colombia. She moved from Colombia to New York in the late 1960's. Cecilia was hired by her close friend Magaly to work in the World Trade Center as a clerk typist in the transportation field. In the early 1980's she met Helen Boyle, an acquaintance of her friend Magaly, who was looking for a companion to share a home in Guilford. CT. When Helen passed away in the early 2000's, she moved to Delray Beach Fl. and in 2017 moved to Leesburg, Fl. Cecilia was of the Roman Catholic faith and regularly attended Mass at St. Paul Catholic Church in Leesburg. She was an outgoing and friendly woman, and her warm personality and sense of humor meant that making friends was natural for her. Cecilia is survived by her beloved friend of over 60 years, Magaly Teicher, as well as another close friend Amaury Hernandez.
