Cecilia Marie Sampson

Cecilia Marie Sampson, a beacon of love and creativity, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, in Rowlett, Texas. Born on February 16, 1938, in Gregg County, Texas, Cecilia was the cherished daughter of the late Cecil and Marie (Dobbs) Bright. Her life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, her faith, and her many passions.

Cecilia's journey began as a bright-eyed girl in Texas, where she grew up surrounded by the warmth of her family's love. In her youth, she met and married the love of her life, Johnnie Sampson, who predeceased her, as did their beloved son, John Carlton "Buddy" Sampson. Her resilience and strength were as remarkable as her compassion, carrying her through life's highs and lows with grace.

Cecilia's legacy endures through her loving family. She is survived by her devoted son, Jeffrey Wayne Sampson; her daughters, Lori Sampson Belitere and her spouse John, and Kristi Gibbs; her cherished grandchildren, Jessica, Cosette, and Christopher Lansford, Amanda Tomko and her husband John, Anthony and Damien Sampson, Arianna Gibbs, and Theodore Kuntz; and her adored great-grandchildren, Makena Rose and Roslyn Masie Tomko. Each of them will forever hold a piece of Cecilia's heart and spirit.

Throughout her life, Cecilia was deeply involved with her church, County Line Baptist in Point, Texas, where she forged lifelong friendships and served her community with unwavering faith. Her commitment to her church family was a testament to her belief in kindness and service.

Cecilia's interests were a reflection of her loving and creative nature. She had a talent for sewing and crafting, infusing beauty and care into every piece she created. A master in the kitchen, she loved to bake, sharing her delectable creations with all those she held dear. Her enjoyment of Dr. Peppers became a charming signature of her, as distinctive as her warm smile.

Traveling with her family was among Cecilia's greatest joys, cherishing every opportunity to explore new places and create lasting memories with those she loved most. The stories of their adventures will be retold and cherished by her family for generations to come.

To know Cecilia was to know what it meant to be loved unconditionally. She was the embodiment of a loving spirit, touching the lives of everyone she met with her kindness and creativity. Her memory will continue to inspire us.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Rest Haven Funeral Home Rowlett. Family and friends will gather prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. Interment will be 10:30 am on Thursday, July 31st, at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
