Cecilia Lorraine Thompson

Cecilia Lorraine Thompson, 73, of Fairmont passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood. She was born in Fairmont on February 13, 1952, the daughter of the late William Ray and Lorraine McQuain Thompson.

She retired from Ruby Memorial Hospital serving as a surgery scheduler. In her younger days she attended Quiet Dell Baptist Church. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

She is survived by a cousin Diane Wagner and her husband Grant and their child Jennifer (Ben), their children Eleanor, Annaliese, and Holden; her aunt Sandra McQuain; special friend Kathy Stutler and her children Jaime and Justin; her best friend of 45 years Violet Arbogast and her husband Burt and their children Pam (Randy) and their children Buster, Melissa (Shawn) and their daughter Hayden and Kay and son Jake; special friend Sabreena Weaver and her husband Justin and their five children; special neighbor Ron Moran; and her special work friends and her church family.

In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated, Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with these wishes.

Friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
