Cedric H. Tyger

Cedric H. Tyger, 66 of Indiana, passed away suddenly on Friday December 26, 2025 at Indiana Regional Medical Center.

He was born July 15, 1959 to DeLoss H. Tyger and Bobby Jo (Shinn) Nanz in Indiana.

Cedric was a member Indiana Country Club, Indiana Elks Lodge 931, Indiana Moose Lodge 174, Indiana American Legion Post 141 and the Indiana FOE 1468 and the Saxton Sportsman Club. He was a 1977 graduate of Indiana Area High School. He was employed by R and P Coal Company for ten years. He then reestablished and was the proud, third generation owner and operator of the C.H. Tyger Painting Company. Cedric also owned the Benjamin Moore Paint Store. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors by golfing and boating and many hours of fun sharing often of playing cards with his dear friends. In his younger years he was an excellent pool shooter and loved to play in a local softball league, where he threw a no-hitter.

Cedric had a charismatic personality in the community known for his ability to light up a room with his presence and stories. He gave so much love to everyone and always willing to help and was very giving. Cedric touched so many people with his heart of gold.

He was a loving father and grandfather; he loved the apple of his eye Heather Marie and loved being with his granddaughter Charlie Jo. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him. His family requests that you please remember Cedric with smiles and laughter.

He is survived by a daughter Heather M. Tyger, Homer City, a granddaughter Charlie Jo Tyger, Indiana, two brothers Kenneth J. Tyger, NM, Louis C. Tyger, Indiana, a sister Sheryl L. Nanz, Clymer, special friend Beth Gregg and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Donald M. Harris.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday January 2, 2026 at Grace (Methodist) Church, 50 S. 7th St., Indiana, PA 15701 with a reception to follow.

Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Rochester Mills.
