Kerby L. Tyger, 72, of Whitehouse, Ohio passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025. He was born in Wilkinsburg, PA on March 27, 1953, to Ilo (Snyder) Tyger. He married Sue McComb on March 8, 1975. Together they shared 50 beautiful years of marriage. She survives in Whitehouse, Ohio.
A proud graduate of Penn State University, Kerby earned his degree in Civil Engineering and went on to dedicate his career to quality assurance work at the Fermi Nuclear Plant, where he served with professionalism and pride until his retirement in 2012.
Kerby had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. He was an avid golfer, and he loved collecting memorabilia - especially bald eagles, turtles, and tigers. A loyal fan of Penn State sports and also Pittsburgh sports, he faithfully followed the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates through every season.
Above all, Kerby cherished his family. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Along with his beloved wife Sue, Kerby is survived by his children Erik (Bethel) Tyger of Waterville, Ohio, Sarah (Brian) Smith of Toledo, Ohio, brother Wayne (Irene) Tyger of Waterford, Wisconsin, sister and brother-in-law Eileen (Greg) Adams, New Concord, Ohio brother and sister-in-law Bill (Michelle) McComb, grandchildren Emily, Austin, Natalie and Sean Tyger, Arielle and Audrey Smith, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ilo Tyger, sister Marsha (Carl) Freshwater, uncle Zane (Betty) Snyder. and father and mother-in-law, William and Helen McComb.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home 7220 Dutch Rd. Waterville, Ohio 43566.
