Celesta Norman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Meyers Funeral Home - Batesville on Dec. 23, 2025.
Celesta Marie Norman, 74, of Milan, Indiana, passed away on December 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 27, 1950, in Milan, Indiana, the daughter of Walter and Ruby (Neal) Block.

Celesta was a devoted homemaker who lovingly raised six children. She enjoyed many hobbies, including painting ceramics, crocheting baby blankets, and baking. She especially loved spring and summer and could often be found attending yard sales, thoughtfully purchasing items for others after remembering something they needed.

In her later years, Celesta resided with her youngest son, Eddie Norman. She took great pleasure in working in her yard, planting flowers, and caring for her animals. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them grow. She also had a lifelong love of music and singing, a passion passed down from her father.

She married Lloyd T. Norman on June 11, 1966, in Elrod, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on February 9, 2014.

She is survived by her children: Lloyd (Melissa) Norman Jr., Charles Norman, Cindy (Mike) Richmond, Barbie (Richard) Roberts, Caroline Norman, and Mary (James) Stout; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many additional "adopted" grandchildren who knew her affectionately as Granny.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd Norman Sr.; her siblings, Walter Block II, Virginia Block, and Allan Block; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 PM at Meyers Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Charlie Miller officiating, Burial will take place at Batesville United Methodist Cemetery. Following the graveside service, all are invited to gather at the Sunman Community Center for a luncheon to share memories and stories.
