Lloyd Klusman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Meyers Funeral Home - Batesville on Feb. 12, 2026.
Lloyd W. Klusman, age 88, of Batesville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Margaret Mary Hospital. He was the son of William F. and Cleona H. (née Crowell) Klusman, born at home in Morris, Indiana, on October 25, 1937.

Lloyd married the love of his life, Pearl Ann Hensley, on May 13, 1961, at New Trenton Baptist Church. Rooted in faith, love, and devotion, their marriage of 64 years was the foundation of their family and beautiful example to his children and grandchildren of a true Christian marriage. Lloyd was a faithful Christ follower and was a longtime member of Batesville Christian Church.

Lloyd graduated from Batesville High School in 1955, where he played basketball and football and earned the affectionate nickname "PeeWee." From a young age, Lloyd was driven to work hard. He began his career at the Farm Shop in Sunman alongside his brother, William Klusman, before spending 16 years at Procter & Gamble Miami Valley Laboratories. Lloyd eventually fulfilled his entrepreneurial dream as the owner and operator of Herb's Auto Parts in West Harrison, Indiana. For 22 years, he took pride in helping customers, solving problems, and building lasting relationships until his well-earned retirement. Lloyd also proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves.

Lloyd loved being hands-on, whether it was working on the family farm, tending to his garden, or tackling any mechanical, electrical, or plumbing project that came his way. Lloyd was an avid clock collector, finding great joy in fixing and restoring them. He also proudly shared his enthusiasm for classic cars as a member of the Hoosier Hills Car Club and shared many laughs with friends playing cards. For 17 years, he and his wife, Pearl, escaped the cold Indiana winters in Tampa, Florida, where they created many friendships and cherished memories exploring parks, local fairs, and browsing together at estate sales.

Above all else, Lloyd treasured time with his family, supporting his kids and grandkids at athletic events, band performances, and simply being present for the moments that mattered most. He taught his children and grandchildren countless practical lessons, which they carry with them to this day. Known for his quick wit, he often made the room at family gatherings light up with laughter. His family will always cherish the many stories and fond memories they have, feeling blessed to have had him as such an important part of their lives.

Lloyd will be dearly missed by his wife, Pearl; daughter, Sheila (Steve) Kolton of Batesville; son, Roger (Cindy) Klusman of Winona Lake, IN; grandchildren, Lauren (Carter) Twombly of Warsaw, IN, Caleb Klusman of Winona Lake, IN, and Joshua Kolton of Batesville; and many nieces and nephews who were very dear to him: Vicki (Joe) Reeves, Richard (Joy) Bishop, Pamela (Jeff) Welch, George (Edie) Hiler, Wanda Burch, Ronald (Sharon) Klusman, Janice Klusman, Ray (Joan) Lohrey, Carol Evans, Donna Freeland, David (Susan) Klusman, Diane Klusman, and Darin (Rebecca) Klusman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Alvera Doerflein and Virginia Pennington; and brothers, William Klusman, Norman Klusman, and Leonard Jinks.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a 4:00 p.m. funeral service with Pastors Steve Yeaton and Jeff Stone officiating, all at Meyers Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to Batesville Christian Church by bringing them to the services or mailing them to Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, IN 47006.
