Barbara Lou Broughton, age 80, of Harrison, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026. She was born on November 15, 1945, in Barbourville, Kentucky, the daughter of Ike and Monita (Jordan) Merida.

She married Curtis Broughton in Knox County, Kentucky, and together they shared 61 years of marriage marked by love, faith, and devotion. She worked as a housekeeper and took great pride in caring for her home and those around her. Her family was the center of her life, and she gave them her time, care, and unwavering support. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially watching hummingbirds and sharing meals out together. Above all, her faith was her foundation, and her love for the Lord guided her life.

She will be missed by her husband, Curtis; son, Curtis Allan (Stephanie) Broughton; grandchildren: Madeline and Emma Broughton; siblings: Shirley Branstutter, Pat (Tom) Bischoff, Ike Jr. (Karen) Merida, and Drucilla Miller.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Ronnie Merida, Wayne Merida, and Ray Merida. She was also preceded in death by her great-nephew, Noah Bischoff.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a 1:00 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Larry Walden officiating, all at Meyers Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Craven Cemetery in Milan.
