Celeste E. Carter (Nanny), was born on January 15,1963, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, just three days before her 63rd birthday. She was born to the late Otis Jr., and Jacqueline Carter. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family. She accepted Christ in her life at a young age and was a member of Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church.

Celeste was a proud graduate of Wilbur Wright High School. Throughout her life, she worked hard and held several different jobs, including employment at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. No matter where she worked, she was known for her strong work ethic and vibrant personality.

Family was at the heart of everything Celeste did. She loved being surrounded by her loved ones and cherished every opportunity to celebrate holidays, birthdays, and special occasions together. Known as the life of the party, Celeste had an infectious sense of humor and was the family’s comedian, always able to bring laughter and joy to those around her. She also had a deep love for her dog, Marley. Who brought her comfort and companionship.

Above all else, her children and grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy. They were truly her life, and she poured her love, time, and energy into each of them. Celeste will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her spirit, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of her family forever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Otis Jr. and Jacqueline Carter, and sister, Amaryillis Carter.

Celeste leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter Tiffany Carter, and her son Jamar Canady. She also leaves behind her beloved grandsons: Salvador, Tristan, Gregory, Ayce, and Amil. She is also survived by her sisters; Annette Carter, Janeen (Gregory)Hill, Monica (Jewell) Wilson, and Ilene Carter; her brothers, Ivan and Wesley Carter; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will continue to honor her life and legacy.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Newcomer Funeral Home North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. Celebration of Life will follow at 10:30 am with a procession to Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery to follow.
