Celia Lippman, a beacon of love and kindness, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, in Mesa, Arizona, from the challenging effects of multiple sclerosis and chronic kidney disease. Born on May 23, 1945, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Celia brought joy and warmth to everyone she encountered throughout her vibrant life.
Celia grew up in Westfield, NJ, where her compassionate nature and friendly disposition quickly became her hallmark traits. Education was a valued part of her life, and after graduating from high school, she furthered her knowledge with college courses that would later aid her in her professional endeavors. Celia's career, in the healthcare realm, began as a receptionist, and she later excelled as a bookkeeper. She was not only meticulous with numbers, but also with the relationships she built, leaving on everyone a lasting impression, especially with her colorful fashion sense, priding herself on rarely wearing the same outfit to work!
Celia was fortunate to have a devoted and caring husband, Alan Lippman. Together, they built a life rich with shared moments and unwavering support for one another. Their love was a foundation for the beautiful family they raised, including their daughter Sydney Kinal (Edward), their son Stephen Lippman, and their daughter Karen Allday (Curt). Celia was a mother who led by example, teaching her children the values of love, kindness, and friendship.
The joy of Celia's life increased with the arrival of her grandchildren, Julie Cortina (Sam), Brittany Brazier (David), and Amelia Allday. She cherished every moment with them, from the simplest of days to the grandest family celebrations. Celia's legacy continued to flourish with her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Hudson, and Cameron, who brought her immense pride and happiness.
Celia's zest for life extended beyond her family to her passion for travel and exploration. She valued the experiences of visiting Italy, England, and Egypt, of vacation travel to Mexico and the Caribbean, and she fondly recalled the sounds of music at Tanglewood and the breezes of the Jersey Shore, among the many other places she visited. Celia also enjoyed the occasional thrill of playing Blackjack at a casino, a testament to her adventurous spirit.
Those who knew Celia will remember her as the embodiment of love, kindness, and friendliness. Her warm presence could light up a room, and her sincere interest in others created deep and enduring connections. Celia's life was not just about the places she went to or the work she did; it was about the people she touched and the love she gave. Particularly important to Celia was hosting extended family gatherings for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Passover, and Rosh Hashanah, and for having her and Alan's friends over every year for her elaborate Super Bowl parties.
Celia's passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire them. Her memory will be cherished and celebrated, a reminder of the life she lived and the ways in which she regarded those whom she loved and touched.
Celia's life was one of connection and joy, and as we bid her farewell, we hold close the memories that will forever be a part of her legacy. Celia Lippman, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
