Celia Ortiz Obituary

Celia grew up and attended school in Mexico before moving to Garden City in 1970. She worked in housekeeping at St Catherine Hospital for over 30 years and was a loyal and dedicated employee. She and her husband enjoyed dancing and many delicious meals she spoiled him with. She was the favorite aunt who indulged the nieces and nephews with treats, advice, and attention. She enjoyed word searches, cooking, and was an avid Braves fan. In addition to being an attentive aunt and loyal wife, she was a dutiful obedient daughter and loving sister.
She is survived by her husband-Jesus Jose Ortiz; siblings-Trinidad, Guillermina, Estela, Antonia, Pedro III., Francisca and Olivia; brother and sister in laws- Maria Elena, Marta, Eduvijes, Pedro, Lola, and Dora; 18 nieces and 19 nephews; 29 great nephews and 30 great nieces; 6 great great nephews and 9 great great nieces and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings- Macedonio and Maria & two nephews.
Visitation will be held 1:00-8:00 pm Sunday November 10, 2024 and 9:00 am-4:00 pm Monday November 11, 2024 at Garnand Funeral Home. The Rosary will be held 6:00 pm also on Monday November 11, 2024 at St Mary Catholic Church. A Funeral will held 11:00 am Tuesday November 12, 2024 at St Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Jacob Schneider officiating. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery. The family suggests Memorials to the Celia Ortiz memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N 7th Street.
