Beloved wife, mother, and Grandmother Donna Marie Kitch (Lightner), age 74, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 26, 2025. She was born March 28, 1951, to parents George L Lightner and Daryle F Lightner (Miller).
Donna was a sweet, giving soul who loved gardening and crafting. She was cherished as a para by both students and teachers alike. Anybody who knew her knew that she was a woman of strong faith who thoroughly enjoyed learning and discussing God's word. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church where she enjoyed helping with nursery, bible study, widows' group, and participating in Operation Christmas Child (Samaritan's Purse).
She is survived by her brother, Richard Lightner (Carol), son, Kevin Kitch (Terra), daughter Kathleen Haack (Brendon), granddaughter, Alyssa Kunze, brothers-in-law, Scott Kitch, Mark Kitch, Chris Kitch, Mike Kitch, Doug Kitch, Sisters-in-law, Dianne Wallace, Carla Kitch, Denise Kitch, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Daryle Lightner, mother and father-in-law Harold and Dolly Kitch, husband Dan Kitch, brother-in-law Richard Kitch, and son in law, Robert Kunze.
Funeral Service for Donna will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at First Southern Baptist Church in Garden City, with Rev. John Harms officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City. Friends may call from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Samaritan's Purse in care of Garnand Funeral Home, 412 N. 7th St., Garden City, Kansas 67846. Condolences may be given at garnandfuneralhomes.com.
Donna touched a great many lives and will be missed by all.
