Celia Rivera

Celia Rivera, 85, of Trenton, N.J. passed away peacefully, after her battle with breast cancer, on Tuesday, December 8, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born on June 5, 1940, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, to the late Manuel Lugo and Adela Gonzalez.

Celia was predeceased by her loving husband, Dionisio Rivera of more than 40 years. Her sons Noel, Edwin and Luis Rivera, great-grandson, Armando Rosario III and 4 beloved sisters.

She is survived by her children; Evelyn Figueroa and husband Carlos of Trenton, N.J.; Ramon Rivera and wife Rachel of Clearwater, FL. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Jasmin Rosario, who she raised with love and devotion and husband, Armando Rosario Jr of Pennington, N.J. Grandchildren; Raymond Rivera and Sabrina Figueroa. Great-grandchildren; Alycia Rosario, Justin Hoyle Jr, Michael Hoyle, Talia Barnes and Leo Rivera and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Celia was a cherished wife, devoted mother, loving sister, a proud grandmother, aunt and friend. She was deeply loved by all who had the blessing of knowing her. Known for her incredible cooking and her nurturing heart, Celia found joy in caring for others and bringing people together. Her kindness, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619. Catholic prayer services will be held at noon with Monsignor Roldan of the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption Church officiating. Cremation will follow and will be private.
