Chad Bauer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kinzley Funeral Home - Hartford Chapel on May 20, 2024.
Chad Carter Bauer, 55, of Hartford was called home by our Heavenly Father on May 18, 2024. When Chad passed, he was doing what he loved-supporting a local, on a benefit run.
Chad Bauer was born October 15, 1968 in Mobridge, SD. Some of Chad's favorite things were listening to good 'ol country music and 80's rock, hunting, fishing, and camping with family, grilling out, gardening, playing in Dart League and Bean Bags, riding his motorcycle, and most of all spending quality time with his family. His favorite title was becoming Grandpa in 2022. Chad was a hardworking blue-collar man. Chad and Jennifer Bauer met in September 1996 at The Grain Bin Bar in Sioux Falls, got married on April 20, 2002, and in July, 2002, he legally adopted KayeLynn and Tracey. Chad was a loving Husband of 22 years, Son, Brother, Father, Uncle, Grandpa, and friend that will be deeply missed.
Chad is survived by: his wife, Jennifer; kids, KayeLynn (Andrew) Waterman and Tracey Bauer; grandkids, Elliana and Jasper Waterman; his dog, Ivan; mother, Sandra Kosel-Bauer; parents-in-law, Emily and Bill Johnston; sister, Pam (Toby) Steckler; niece, Madison Steckler and nephew, Mason Steckler; sister-and brother-in-law, Angie (Alan) Goldhammer; aunts, Nola Bauer, Shirley Kosel and Donna Kosel and uncles, Jerome Kosel, Milton Kosel and Terry Bauer.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carter Bauer, nephews Jamison and Gavin Steckler, grandparents, Godfred and Sena Bauer, Hilda and Paul Kosel and his four-legged fur best friend, Hunter.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 24 from 5 – 7 pm at Kinzley Funeral Home, Hartford Chapel with a celebration of life service to begin at 5 pm. Ride-a-long to Pilot Mikes will follow the service for food and drinks.
