Chad Curtis Keck

On Sunday, November 19, 2023 our son, brother, uncle and friend, Chad Curtis Keck, unexpectedly died at the age of 39.
Chad was born June 21, 1984 in Lansing, Michigan, the second of four sons to Karen and Curtis Keck. Chad attended St. Johns Public Schools, graduating in 2002. He was active in several high school activities such as jazz band and marching band where he was the drum major his junior and senior years. His interest in computers his last two years of high school helped move him to Lansing Community College where he worked in Information Technology Services as a Systems/Project Coordinator for many years.
Chad was an avid Michigan State University football and basketball fan as well as big Detroit Tigers fan. He loved spending time with family and friends, watching sports, movies, playing board games or just hanging out. Before his health started to decline he enjoyed playing golf. Chad played on a couple of leagues and he and his partner were LCC Golf League Champions in 2007.
Chad had a zest for life, always looking forward to the next adventure or trick to play on family or friends. He would be one of the first to arrive at a party, to help with last minute details and be one of the last to leave, helping clean up. Over the past couple of years his struggles with psoriatic arthritis, chronic extreme depression, anxiety and panic attacks stole the person his family and friends knew as Chad.
Chad's memory will be cherished by his parents, Karen and Curt Keck; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cory (Erin Csapos), Branden and Ceara and Spencer and Taryn Keck; nieces and nephews, Cora, Mason and Logan Csapos, Selina, Jax, Thompson, Sydney and Savanna Keck; grandfather, Melvin Anderson (Ellen Kerns). Also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins. Chad was preceded in death by grandparents, Clarence and Jeannette Keck; grandmother, Dorothy Anderson and uncle, Gary Anderson.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 2, 2023 at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, St. Johns. Interment will follow at Mount Rest Cemetery.
