Norma Jean Fitzpatrick, age 90, of St. Johns, Michigan, was called home to her Lord and Savior on August 3, 2025. Born at home in Bengal Township on November 8, 1934, to Carl and Alvina (Hopp) Rossow, Norma was a woman of deep faith, resilient spirit, and generous heart.

She attended St. Peter Lutheran School and graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in 1952. A lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Norma lived her faith every day through her service in volunteer ministries. She was a beloved choir member and faithfully served as the church organist for 35 years.

Norma married the love of her life, Bruce Fitzpatrick, on June 20, 1959. They met at the bank where Norma worked as a teller-Bruce made a point of always bringing his check to her window. Together, they built a home filled with love, faith, and purpose. They raised their children in St. Johns and tended a large vegetable garden side by side, sharing its bounty with family and friends.

After raising her children, Norma returned to the workforce as a substitute secretary in the St. Johns Public Schools, from which she eventually retired. She was especially proud of her 25+ years of involvement with the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, dedicating her time and energy to a cause close to her heart.

Norma will be remembered for her strong yet tender presence. She was tough in all the right ways-grounded, wise, and unwavering in her support of her family. Her baking was legendary; she made sure her grandchildren always had fresh cookies and warm memories to go with them.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Bruce Fitzpatrick; their children, Eric Fitzpatrick and Lori (John) Klein; her beloved grandchildren, Madeline Wick, Anthony (Casey) Klein, and Taylor (Ben) Fox; and her beloved great grandchildren, Levi Klein and Dawson Fox. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Gail Kohlhase, Sharon Fitzpatrick, and Sally Fitzpatrick, along with many loving nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gerald (Jean) Rossow; sister, Arlene (Norman) Marten; and in-laws Shirley (Henry) Attwell, Norman (Diane) Fitzpatrick, Dr. Roger Fitzpatrick, Stuart Fitzpatrick, and David Fitzpatrick.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Judy Marten, for all of her time and care given to Norma.

Visitation will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Parkway, St. Johns, on Tuesday, August 5, from 2-8PM. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 511 E. Sturgis St., St. Johns, on Wednesday, August 6, at 10AM, with visitation beginning at 9AM at the church. Interment will follow in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be made in her name to American Cancer Society-Relay For Life or to St. Peter Lutheran School.
