Chad Michael Knueve, 43 of Bellefontaine died September 30, 2025, after an extensive battle with mental illness.

Chad was born in Lima, Ohio, on November 11, 1981, to Paul F. and Joyce A. (Koenig) Knueve, who survive in Wapakoneta. He is also survived by wife, Melinda, whom he married on December 1, 2007; son, Cade; sister Michelle (Elijah) Schaefer; brother Adam (Jessica) Knueve; sister Emily (Kevin) Lenahan; mother-in-law, Peggy Smith; brother-in-law, Brent (Stacey) Smith; 12 nephews, 5 nieces, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Chad was a graduate of Wapakoneta High School, and graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science. He also graduated from Champlain College with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Forensics; and from University College Dublin, with a Masters in Cybersecurity.

Chad worked for the Bureau of Criminal Investigation followed by a role at the Logan County Sheriff's Office before spending several years in the private sector specializing in cybercrimes.

Chad always embraced opportunities to expand his knowledge and never ran short of something to talk about. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors, but was never more happy than when he spent time with his wife, Melinda, and son, Cade.
