Chad Perbeck
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Chad Vincent Perbeck, 47, of Concord, California, died unexpectedly on September 16, 2024, in Santa Clarita, California. Born in Torrington, Connecticut, on March 7, 1977, to the late Walter Jr. and Beverly (Barbero) Perbeck, Chad was a beloved partner and friend, and cherished member of many communities.
A 1995 graduate of Torrington High School, Chad continued his love of basketball (and his studies) at Tufts University. After earning his B.A., he moved to California and started his 25-year career in finance, working for Bear Stearns, Litman Gregory, and Waypoint Wealth Partners, in addition to founding his own company, HPS Capital Advisors. Although he just completed his M.S. in Financial Planning in 2021, he recently considered starting a new career as a firefighter, which would have been a great choice for his risk-taking, adventure-loving, always-looking-out-for-others nature.
Chad, however, was much more than his work. He was known in professional and personal circles for his compassion, intelligence, humor, and determination. Chad was rad; he carried himself with an ease that made those around him feel soothed and content. He had a deep passion for outdoor activities and touched the lives of so many with his generous spirit. As a childhood friend said, "it was impossible not to love him."
And love him, we do. Chad is survived by his partner of 14 years, Lisa, sister, Amy, brother-in-law, Chris, nieces, Elise and Erica, a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, several childhood friends, fellow Tufts alums (including his basketball teammates - Go Jumbos!), many dozens of connections across the globe and, last, but nowhere near least, two beloved dogs, Kona and Anela. He is already and always will be deeply missed by all who knew or met him.
Memorial services will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to the Shatterproof ( www.shatterproof.org (

Rest in peace, Chad. You didn't like to make plans and we will always struggle to understand this plan that includes your sudden passing. Your memory will live on forever in our hearts. We love you, kiddo.
