Chalmers David Winstead

Mr. Chalmers David Winstead, age 81 of Pinnacle, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Winstead was born on May 6, 1944, in Wilson County, North Carolina to the late Lonnie Carroll and Susie Eloise Rhodes Batts. David was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving is his wife, Judy Monday Winstead; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda “Mandy” Winstead Cook and Chuck; sister, Linda Batts Edwards; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry Monday and Mary Cynthia; special friends, Josh Harris, Chad Bullington, Lee Inman, Kenneth Chilton; his constant companion, Chubbs; along with several nieces and nephews. Mr. Winstead was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dennis Barnette officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Moody Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 325, Dobson, North Carolina 27017.
