Mrs. Chandra Austin Wylie was born on June 17, 1971 in Staten Island, New York to Helen Franklin Austin and Raymond Donald Austin. She was youngest of two daughters.
Chandra is survived by her husband Sammie Wylie, Jr., her children Cheyenne, Sema'j, Christopher and Cidneyand her bonus children, Richard and Samantha. She is also survived by her siblings, Christal Brabham, Raymond Austin, Jr. and Mallory Connor, and will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, extended family members and friends.
Chandra was a very intelligent, hardworking, loving and fiercely protective matriarch of her family. She had a variety of interests and passions, including crafting, crocheting, fishing and crabbing, just to name a few. Chandra loved taking care of her family, cooking for the holidays and entertaining.
Chandra challenged herself by continuing her education and obtaining a Master's in Human Services and Counseling at Liberty University. She worked at Riverside Behavioral Health as a Mental Health Tech. for the past two years. Prior to that she worked as an EMT and a Life Coach. Chandra always went over and beyond the call of duty.
Chandra loved life, adventures, music, boxing and gardening. She was really family oriented, she had a passion for bringing people together, was very social and loved helping people. Her passing leaves a tremendous void for all those who knew and loved her as well as the many people whose lives she has touched. Chandra was called home and was embraced by her mother who passed away a week prior. She will be missed immensely.
The Wylie family request that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
The family of Mrs. Chandra Wylie has entrusted her final care to C. C. Carter Funeral Home, Inc.

I'm just now hearing of this and can't believe it!! Mrs. Austin-Wylie was truly a joy to teach and had amazing stories. She used to tell stories to our class about her time as an EMT in New York! Her stories were amazing, entertaining and inspiring. Before she left our department she offered to teach my wife and I to rollerskate! My sincerest condolences to the family, she was truly a jewel in this world.
