Publish in a newspaper

Chandra Arlene Strickland Coleman, 68, entered into eternal rest on August 23, 2025, at NHC in Clinton and was the wife of late Larry Furman Coleman.

Born in Pensacola, FL to the late Frederic Eugene and Cassie May Strickland. Even though some would have considered Chandra as being shy, she was very loving and kind and would do anything for children. During her career, she worked at Thornwell Home for Children, where she was a cottage parent and worked to obtain sponsorships. In later years, Chandra worked once again with children at YMCA FBC Daycare in Laurens. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church Clinton where she taught Wednesday night classes and served in the kitchen.

Chandra is survived by her son, Lawrence Coleman; siblings, Matthew Strickland (Linda), Sammy Strickland (Tina), Judy Williams, (Charles), Joey Strickland, and Rena Crigger; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, George Coleman (Linda), and Jim Coleman (Nancy); sister-in-law, Jan Coleman; and special friends Anne Hunter, the Gustafson family, and the Barnes family.

In addition to her husband and her parents, Chandra was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Gary Coleman; nephew, Joey Strickland, Jr; brother-in-law, Mark Crigger; and in-laws, Allen and Virginia Coleman.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First Presbyterian Clinton on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 3:00 PM, conducted by Rev. Burton Ott.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

There will be a private family committal service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Clinton, 410 E. Carolina Avenue, Clinton, SC 29325 or to Thornwell Home for Children, 302 S. Broad Street, Clinton, SC 29325.
