Chandra Michelle Smith

Chandra Michelle Smith, born on November 5, 1966, peacefully passed away on March 15, 2024. She was the youngest of three siblings and was preceded in death by her mother, Mary L. Smith, and her brother, Jeffery Smith, all from Chicago, IL. Chandra is survived by her brother, Shayon Smith, residing in Akron, OH.
Chandra was a shining example of kindness with a heart that touched the lives of all who knew her. She dedicated herself to her family, friends, and community, always willing to lend a helping hand. Her limitless compassion and generosity left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.
Driven by her passion for education, Chandra pursued academic excellence and earned her master's degree in education with the highest honors. Her commitment to lifelong learning was evident in every aspect of her life.
Chandra's professional journey led her to work for Featherfist, a distinguished organization dedicated to providing support and resources to those in need, particularly in housing and community development. Her dedication to service and unwavering commitment to uplifting others made her an invaluable member of the Featherfist family. Additionally, Chandra was actively involved in community service, collaborating with the Women of Zeta Phi Beta, an organization she joined during her second year at Northern Illinois University.
Chandra's legacy of love, compassion, and service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she may have left this world, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

A tribute from Zeta Phi Beta will take place at 3 pm with a visitation to follow until the time of service at 4pm on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home 1787 Deerfield Rd., Highland Park, IL 60035. A private interment of ashes will be held at Glencoe Union Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Featherfist, Inc. 2255 E. 75th Street
