Chantel R. Moose

Chantel Raechelle Moose "Onbanakwadokwe" was born on August 6, 1998, in Duluth, Minnesota. She grew up in Mississippi and later moved back to Cloquet at the age of 14 years. Chantel re-located to Duluth at the age of 16 years. She received her GED and attended college for graphic arts. Chantel worked as a P.C.A. She enjoyed dancing and hanging out with her friends and family. Chantel especially loved music and making the ones that meant the most to her laugh. She had a great sense of humor and loved all her family and friends. Chantel passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 12, 2024, at the age of 25 years in Duluth.
Chantel is survived by her daughter, Raena Rosado of Duluth; her mother, Shawna (David) Moose-Shamley of Duluth; brother, Michael McNaughton of Duluth; sister, Belinda McNaughton of Illinois; nieces, Athena and one on the way; aunt, Tammy Martineau; uncle, Dana Moose; and many other aunts, uncles, family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; father, Michael McNaughton; and many other family members and friends.
A traditional wake will start at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024, and will continue until her traditional service at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the Sawyer Tribal Community Center in Sawyer, Minnesota. Interment will be in the St. Mary and Joseph's Cemetery.
