In Loving Memory of Charlene Childs
Charlene Childs, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, was born on March 30, 1949, to the loving union of Charlie and Mary Henley. As the second eldest of ten siblings, Charlene grew up surrounded by family, faith, and resilience.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henley; her brothers Uyless, Kenneth, Ruben, and James Henley; and her sisters Durella Henley, Elaine Henley, Alma Henley, and Rachel Cox.
A proud graduate of the Sulphur Springs School District, Class of 1976, Charlene followed her passion for fashion into the retail industry, where she dedicated many years of service before retiring. Her eye for style and her warm spirit made her a beloved presence in every space she entered.
Charlene was a devout Christian and a faithful member of Mount Hebron Missionary Baptist Church in Garland, Texas. Her faith guided her life, and her love for family was unwavering. She cherished every moment spent with loved ones, especially during the holidays, when her joy and warmth lit up the room.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, survived by her brother Clarence Henley, Wife Sylvia, sister-in-law Clara Henley, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will continue to honor her memory.
