Charlene Eikner Obituary
Charlene was born on August 7th, 1935 in Grand Saline, Texas to Charles Gibson and Bessie Davis. She spent her childhood days with her best friends, Alma and Carolyn, before moving to Tyler.
Charlene worked at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler for 25 years as a Medical Technologist. There she met many wonderful friends, whom she treasured dearly.
Affectionately known as "Mama Mickey" she enjoyed scrapbooking, working with her hands, and going to thrift stores to rescue orphaned dolls. But more importantly, Mom spent many hours praying for her family. Her fierce love for Jesus and her family led to a lifetime of sharing Him with them and others she met along the way.
Mom is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Earl Whitaker, her parents, and her brother, Jack Perritt.
Charlene is survived by her current husband of 20 years, Gary Eikner, daughters, LaDonna Gill (Paul) and Ramonda Alexander (Keith), granddaughters Jami Ayres (Joseph) Lindsay Jones (Kyle), and Katie Cox (Justin), 9 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-granddaughters, 1 great-great-grandson on the way, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mama Mickey's life will be held on December 27th, 2023.
Visitation: 9:30-11:00
Funeral Service: 11:30- officiated by Paul Gill
No graveside service.

Charlene & I have shared thousands & thousands of memories since we met about 66 years ago!
For many years we lived 1 block apart!!!
After she moved to Tyler we were separated, but were NEVER really apart!
We will be together again
