Charlene J. Murphy

Charlene J. Murphy, of Winthrop, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at the age of 79, after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
Beloved wife of the late Thomas Murphy, Charlene was the devoted mother of Vicki K. Russo (Ferraro) and her husband David P. Russo of Winthrop. She was the cherished grandmother of Kayla Russo and her fiancé John Wheeler, Kelly Russo, and Jonathan Russo.
Born in Chelsea, Charlene was the loving daughter of the late Henry and Kathryn (Barrett) Allen. She was the dear sister of Cynthia K. O'Connell, Douglas Allen and his wife Shirley of San Diego, CA, Barry Allen, and the late Valerie LeBlanc of Winthrop. She was also a treasured aunt to many loving nieces and nephews.
Charlene dedicated over 30 years of her life as a compassionate nurse at Bayview Nursing Home and later served as a devoted aide at Bright Beginnings Learning Center in Winthrop, where her warmth and kindness touched countless lives.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 15, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Ruggiero Family Memorial Home, 971 Saratoga Street, East Boston. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 16, at 11:30 AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, Winthrop. Interment will be private.
