Charlene LaCoste Ohmer, 70, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 11, 1955, in Morgan City, the daughter of Jesse LaCoste and Mamie Barrilleaux LaCoste.
Charlene was a cherished homemaker who found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved spending her days fishing for trout lines with her husband, Gerald, and camping with their children and grandchildren. Family gatherings were a highlight for Charlene, where laughter echoed and memories were made. Her loyal dogs were often by her side, making each adventure even more special.
She will be sadly missed an lovingly remembered by her husband of 51 years, Gerald Ohmer Jr.; two daughters, Jessica Jones and husband Heath, Erika Lynn Ohmer, five grandchildren, Morgan Crews Bonilla, Erin Crews, Rainnie Simon, Breanna Jones, Brock Jones; five great-grandchildren, Addy Simon, McKinley Simon, Laynie Simon, Kaden Simon, Briley Ganaway; three sisters, Rosa Elliot, Jessie Gauither, Nancy Domangue and husband Tommy; one brother, Russell “Rusty” Barrileaux and wife Shelby; mother-in-law, Viola Ohmer; numerous nieces and nephews.
Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Mamie LaCoste; siblings, Diana Ratcliff, Irene Dubois, Clint LaCoste, and Herbert LaCoste; father-in-law, Gerald Ohmer Sr.; sister-in-law, Jamie Ohmer Head; niece, Brittani Head; nephew, Thad Ohmer.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Twin City Funeral Home, with Father Brett Lapeyrousse officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Twin City Funeral Home, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. After services, Charlene will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery.
