Charles Abbate, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, bid farewell to this world on June 20, 2024, in Sun City, Arizona. Born on September 28, 1938, in Sicily, Italy, Charles's journey touched the hearts of many and left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A man of unwavering dedication to his family, Charles cherished moments spent gathered around the dinner table with loved ones. His grandchildren held a special place in his heart and truly the light of his life. His love for travel extended beyond borders as he enjoyed voyages back to visit his homeland and reveled in experiencing different cultures during his travels around the world.
Charles found joy in simple pleasures like bowling with his brothers, trying his luck at gambling, cheering on horses at the tracks, and engaging in exciting poker games. Despite these interests, his proudest accomplishments were rooted in the enduring love he shared with his wife Maria for 55 beautiful years. To him, Maria was not just a partner but a soulmate whom he adored beyond measure.
In his lifetime journey, Charles was preceded in death by his siblings Sam, Tony, Joe, and Lena. While we mourn his loss deeply, we find solace in the memories that will forever live on within us.
He leaves behind a legacy cherished by many. His memory will be kept alive by his beloved wife Maria Abbate; daughters Christina and Diana; sons Paul and Frank; grandkids Austin, Breanna, Charlie, Merriah, Daniel, Cheyenne , Faith, Christian, and Clayton; great-grandson Elijah who is on the way; godson Frankie Tony; brother Angelo; along with numerous other family members and friends.
The services to honor Charles Abbate's remarkable life will take place at the Menke Funeral & Cremation Center in Sun City. A visitation will be held on July 2nd from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be conducted on July 3rd at 11:00 AM followed by another gathering from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
As we bid farewell to Charles Abbate from this earthly realm, may his kind spirit continue to guide us and may his memory inspire us to cherish our loved ones as he did every day of his life. Through shared stories and fond remembrances, may we find comfort in celebrating a life well-lived and a heart full of love that touched so many souls.
