Charles Adkisson, born on October 16, 1953, in Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. He was 72 years old.
Charles dedicated over three decades of his life to public service, working for the State of Ohio as a Corrections Officer and Deputy Sheriff. His work extended into behavioral health with children, where he brought strength and compassion to a challenging field. His long-standing commitment to justice and care left a meaningful impact on those he served and worked alongside.
A man of deep faith, Charles walked steadfastly with God throughout his life. His spiritual devotion was a guiding force in both his personal and professional journey.
He was preceded in death by his father James W. Adkisson Sr., Mother Amanda E. Adkisson, sister Audrey Davis, and brother James W. Adkisson Jr. Charles is survived by his sister Marjorie E. Adkisson and a host of nieces and nephews.
He also held a special place in his heart for family friend Laray Jordan and his family, whose bond with Charles was one of enduring support and affection.
May the memory of Charles Adkisson bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting testament to a life lived with purpose and faith.
