Charles Floyd Akes

Charles "Floyd" Akes, age 86, of Monette, passed from this life Monday, October 9, 2023, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born in Dardanelle, he was the son of the late Will and Jessie Harvey Akes and had been a longtime Monette area resident. Earlier in his life, Floyd worked as a farmer and afterward he did lawn care and was a small engine mechanic. He was a member of the Assembly of God in Monette. Floyd enjoyed working, spending time with friends and going to church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 wives, Charlene Laxton Akes, Donna Hames Akes and Iva Nell Clayton Akes; 2 sisters, Mary Tyler and Ruby Davidson; 2 brothers, Raymond Akes and Truman Akes and his stepdaughter, Vickie Southerly.

Graveside Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Cudd Cemetery near Marmaduke with Rev. Mark Wheeler officiating. The family will receive visitors Wednesday from noon until 1 p.m. at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville. Online guest register at www.howardfuneralservice.com
