LEACHVILLE - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rudy D. Snider, who left us peacefully on Aug. 15, 2025, at the age of 79. A man of few words but much action, Rudy thoughtfully expressed his love and care through what he did for his family.
Rudy was born to Eston and Vera Snider on Oct. 31, 1945, in Monette. From a young age, he was taught the value of perseverance, and throughout his life, he embodied this principle in everything he did. He graduated from Monette High School in 1963, and met his cherished wife Patti at a VJ Day street celebration in 1966. They have been inseparable ever since. Rudy and Patti married in 1968, and Rudy began farming a few years later. Rudy was always known for his clean crops and hard work.
Rudy was an avid sportsman, who really enjoyed duck hunting on the St. Francis River and fishing on the Mississippi River. He was a skilled craftsman, able to fix just about anything that came his way, and could often be found in his workshop making duck calls. Everyone on the river recognized the sound of his unique long call.
He retired early from farming and happily handed off management of the farm to his son Brandon. After retiring, Rudy and Patti enjoyed Biloxi, where they found peace strolling the beaches and feeding the seagulls. Rudy enjoyed playing live poker with the friends he met at the Beau Rivage Casino. He also enjoyed working on projects with his beloved wife. Together they successfully tackled many home improvements that would intimidate most people. Rudy also enjoyed riding four wheelers with his grandsons and was proud to be their Pop.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Vera and Eston, and his brother Alvis. He is survived by his wife Patti Croom Snider, his daughter Crystal Phelps (Bradford) of Little Rock, his son Brandon Snider (Paige) of Leachville, and three grandsons, Sylas Pettit, Jagger Snider, and Bodhi Snider, all who will miss him deeply. Other survivors include sister-in-law Nan Snider of Monette; Allison Potter of Memphis, Tenn.; Stephanie Snider of Carson City, Nev.; Rachel Cupples of Cordova, Tenn.; and Joshua Potter of Memphis, Tenn.
The family has chosen direct cremation and there will be no public service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you give your loved ones a hug.
