Charles (Chuck) Allmon, age 87, was born April 30, 1938 in East Liverpool, OH and passed away peacefully on Oct. 9th, 2025 with his beloved wife holding his hand.
He leaves behind his devoted wife, Carol Crawford Allmon, of 67 years. They had three children Arthur Allmon (Patty) of Raleigh, NC, Debbie Westfall (Frank) of Sanford, NC and Susan Allmon of Sanford, NC. Also surviving are his three granddaughters, Jennifer Westfall Hart (Marcus), Christina Cottrell Norman (Garrett) and Carol Ann Cottrell and his beloved dog Peanut. He was proceeded in death by his parents Arthur Tice and Myra Seevers Allmon Tice and his sister Jeannette Allmon Nease, all of East Liverpool, OH.
Chuck retired from the United States Air Force serving 23 years. He was a Vietnam veteran and served his country with pride. He moved with his devoted wife and family to over 17 locations during his military career to finally retire in Sanford. He loved having his family close. Chuck loved music, dancing and singing. Many years he drove to Chapel Hill to donate blood for cancer patients receiving a certificate for donating 8 gallons to eventually needing their cancer treatment, surviving but unable to donate any longer. Chuck volunteered for years with the men’s shelter to help build and fix the men’s home. He loved helping people and could fix anything. He helped at the voting polls for many years. He enjoyed working out in his yard and took pride in having a clean car. He liked to keep busy outside. He will be missed. The family would like to thank the staff at Parkview and Amedisys Hospice for their wonderful care.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at First Apostolic Church. A private burial will follow. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 pm Sunday.
