Charles "Chuck" J. Armando, a lifelong member of the Canton community, passed away on August 10, 2025 surrounded by his family. Born on April 8, 1944, in Canton, MA, to Gabriel and Patricia Armando, Chuck's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the impact one person can have on the lives of so many.
Chuck's journey began in the town he would call home for his entire life. He was the beloved husband of Patricia F. Armando (Hussey). He was a devoted father to his children, Andrea Starr and her husband Kenny of Canton, Gary Armando of Canton, and Michael Armando and his wife Marsha of Canton. His love extended to his grandchildren, Ava and Grace Starr and Lucia and Vivian Armando, whom he adored. He was a brother to Richard Armando and his wife Marie of Sharon and was predeceased by his siblings, Lorraine Whittemore and Robert Armando.
Chuck graduated from Canton High School and went on to earn his Associate's degree from Northeastern University. His service to his country was marked by his time in the Army Reserves from 1964-1968. His career as a structural steel detailer began at Antonelli Iron Works in Quincy. He went on to start his own business, the Chapman Group, where he worked until his retirement.

Chuck's involvement in his hometown was multifaceted. He was an active member of the Canton Town Club. His commitment to the community was evident as he was appointed a member of the Zoning Board and the Building Renovations Committee. He led fundraising efforts to benefit the students of the Mass Hospital School/Pappas Center, and he volunteered numerous hours at various town recreation events. He was a familiar face at Wampatuck Country Club where he enjoyed playing in the Canton Town Club Monday Night Golf League for over forty years.

Chuck's legacy is one of unwavering love for his family, steadfast service to his community, and a life lived with enthusiastic participation. He has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew him, and his spirit will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to have been part of his journey. Chuck will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home on Thursday, August 14th from 4- 8 p.m. A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Friday, August 15th at St. Oscar Romero Parish at 10:30 a.m. Burial at Knollwood Memorial Park.

My regrets to the family and friends of Chuck. We were classmates at Canton High School from 1958 through graduation in 1962. Our paths went their separate ways ever since, so my memories of him remain of the bright young man of those days of long ago. It is my hope that Chuck left a volume of grand memories that will help to sooth the sorrow of his passing.
