Charles Richard Astling

Richard Astling (86) passed away peacefully on June 26th at the MediLodge in Ludington. He was born on April 12th 1938 to Charles Astling and Myrtle (Schutt) Astling, in Constantine, Michigan. Richard graduated from White Pigeon High School in 1956 and began working for Gray Brothers Stamping & Machine Inc. He moved to the Ludington area in 2002, and took on work at Custom Sheet Metal & Heating. He will be remembered for his work ethic, his friendly nature, and his personal faith. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara, by his children, Terry, Robert, Arlene, Joseph, his Step-Son Greg McCallum, and by his grandchildren: Michael, Jamie, Eric, Spencer, Dustin, Alexes, and Sarah. Richard was preceded in death by his brother Floyd, his sister Nancy Eipperle, and his son Thomas. A memorial service is scheduled for July 8th, 2pm, at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington (viewing begins at 1pm). Memorials can be directed to Bachelor Evangelical Church.
