Charles James Barone, 82, passed away peacefully at home in West Pittston on July 22, 2025. Charles lived a life defined by kindness and quite strength. A true gentleman in every sense, he was known for his gentle spirit and steadfast devotion to his family, especially his children and grandchildren whom he cherished. Above all, his profound devotion to his beloved wife of 57 years, Judy, stood as the truest expression of his love and the richness of life well lived. He is lovingly remembered by his children: Elizabeth Moyer and her husband Robert, of Nuangola; Jennifer Charney, of WestChester; Charles Barone III and his wife Kathleen, of Falls; and Joseph Barone of Fort Myers, Fla.; grandchildren: Tatiana, Alana and Dominica Barone; Gianna and Matthew Charney, Patrick Barone and his wife, Jocelyn; great granddaughter: Dawson Barone; sister: Dolores Straka and husband George; sister-in-law: Betsy Lawrence and husband Gary; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Victoria Barone Verdine. His legacy lives on through them and all whose lives were enriched by his warmth, kindness, and creative vision. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 28 at 10 a.m. at Saint Anthony of Padua Church, of Saint Barbara Parish, 224 Memorial Street in Exeter. Father Paul McDonnell will be the celebrant. Relatives and friends are asked to go directly to the church on Monday morning. There are no calling hours. Interment is private and will be at the convenience of the family. If desired and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Prescription Assistance Fund of Medical Oncology Associates, https://www.moawy.com/resources/prescription-assistance-fund/. Arrangements are entrusted to the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home at 509 Wyoming Avenue in West Pittston.
