Dear Duane and Karen,
This is very late, but I'm so sorry you've lost your Dad. Your family was always special to me. All of you. Mom, Dad, and you both. Babysat for you two when we all were young. You were the best. My favorites to sit for

I met Charlie in 1977 at a Kuwanis function. We spent 5 years together in the day-to-day operations of the Stagecoach restaurant in Webster, NY. After I moved to FL, our friendship continued with Charlie & Malou coming to spend month/months enjoying the beach, the sun & the Pittsburgh Pirates spring training games together. I will truly miss my friend, talking on the phone and getting caught up on our lives. But I know Charlie is now with Malou. Since you can't define one without the other, as they were like "peanut butter and jelly!" My deepest sympathies to Karen, Duane and their loving families. Rest in peace, my friend.

I was an ownership partner at Miller Brick and Charles L. Basch Inc. was my account. To say what a pleasure it was to deal with Charlie and Bill is an understatement. They were friends not customers. Charlie always had a joke or a funny quip to me and it was so much fun to interact with him. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word and a great friend. He was a hardworking and honest guy. It is an honor to have called Charlie my friend. He will be missed. May he Rest in Peace.

I met Charlie in 1950 when we were both Freshman at Webster High School. We played baseball and basketball together and it was during these years that I realized what a wonderful person he was, as well as a great athlete. He and I became fast friends.
We joined the Coast Guard at the same time but unfortunately did not serve together. He was best man at my wedding and I was best man at his. Charlie was always so much fun to be around and my wife, Joyce and I shared many great moments with him and Malou. Charlie was a very special human being and our world was a better place with him in it. I will miss him dearly.
My condolences to Duane, Karen and the rest of his family. Sure he will shine his light down on all of us.

My first memories of Charlie was when I was a young boy and watched the interaction between Charlie, my dad, Larry Panepinto, Bruce Hanlon,Tom Heberle and other Kiwanians. Over the years, we became friends and I enjoyed our conversations and his mentoring. Charlie, your work here is done but your legacy lives on through your example. Rest in peace my friend.

My sincere sympathy to Charlie's family in the loss of their Patriarch. What a wonderful, kind and happy man. Charlie came to Antonio's Restaurant with the Kiwanis service club every now and again. He wore that brilliant smile of his and was always cheered and welcomed. Charlie Basch was an awesome individual and will be missed by all who knew him.

Heartbreaking news! We first met at the coffee shop and remained friends for over 25 years. Our birthdays were a week apart so every year we had our annual breakfast to celebrate. How he loved his daughter, son, grandkids and great grandkids like no other, He was a great friend and his life should be emulated by all. Charlie was 1 in a Million and will be missed. My birthday wont be the same this month without you. RIP my dear friend. I know you are with your love Malou but watching over all of us! Love you Ann C.
