Charles D. Beaumont, a beloved father, cherished friend, and proud Marine, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, at the age of 78, in the Serenity Hospice Unit of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in
Hamilton, NJ. A lifelong resident of the area, Charles' presence touched the lives of many.
Born in Trenton on September 30, 1947, Charles graduated from Nottingham High School before answering the call to serve his country. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines on August 12, 1966, and valiantly served during the Vietnam War, achieving the rank of Private First Class. His dedication to his country was matched only by his love for his family and community.
Following his military service, Charles embarked on a rewarding career with Verizon Telecommunications, where he worked as a lineman for over 25 years before his well-deserved retirement in 2003. His commitment to service extended beyond his profession; he was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hamilton Square, where he was baptized and confirmed as a child and continued to worship throughout his life.
Charles' life was filled with simple joys and a passion for sharing them with others. He was known for his delightful baking, particularly his famous brownies, and his passion for coin collecting and gardening. A true jack-of-all-trades, he loved to lend a hand to anyone in need, especially his family, and enjoyed tinkering around his home. Travelling the world, particularly a memorable trip to Peru with his daughter, Monica, brought him great joy and fond memories. As we gather to celebrate Charles, remember not only his service and dedication but the warmth, kindness, and love he shared with all who entered his life.
Predeceased by his parents, Herbert M. and Beatrice (Carson) Beaumont, his wife of 34 years, Maria Lynn (Klotz) Beaumont; and his sons, Michael J. and David W. Beaumont; he is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Monica Lynn Suchy, and her husband, Joe, of Woodbridge; his daughter-in-law, Melissa Beaumont of Bedford Corners, NY; and his adored grandchildren, Aiden, Weston, and Madelyn.
To honor Charles' life and legacy, visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way,
Hamilton Square, NJ 08690. Military honors, conducted by the U.S. Marines, will begin at 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service officiated by Pastor Kyle Doebler of the First Presbyterian Church of Hamilton Square.
In accordance with Charles' wishes, cremation services and interment will be held privately.
