Charles Robert "Bob" Bertelkamp, 93
New Castle

Charles Robert "Bob" Bertelkamp, age 93, of New Castle passed away Sunday, March 16, 2025, at his residence. Son of the late Charles Louis and Eunice (Chenault) Bertelkamp, he was a longtime and active member of Sligo Baptist Church. A lifelong truck driver, he retired from Kroger after many years of service. Following his retirement, he drove the school bus for Henry County Public Schools where the kids knew him as "Uncle Bob". A loving husband, father and grandfather, he was devoted to his family and friends. He loved being outdoors, camping, fishing, playing cards, pitching cornhole and watching sports.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Ann Bertelkamp; a son, Phillip Eugene Graham; his grandsons, Shawn Pippin and Jason Richardson; and his sisters, Alice Lasure and Betty Allen.
He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Rose Marie Graham Bertelkamp of New Castle; daughters, Marsha Pippin Geary (Mike) of Louisville and Robin Richardson (Don Newton) of Louisville; sons, Raymond Louis "Bud" Bertelkamp (Vickie) of Louisville
and Guy Richard Graham of Danville; daughter-in-law, Kelli Graham of Florida; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Sligo Baptist Church. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Sligo Baptist Church. The Reverend Earl Wayne Perry officiated with Reverend Mark Brockman assisting. Committal services were at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at Evergreen Cemetery. Burial followed.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sligo Baptist Church.
