Charles "Chuck" Bismack, 82, of Bellevue, Iowa died Friday, October 31, 2025, at home.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Charles will be 11:00 am Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Bellevue with Father Andy Upah as the Celebrant. Burial will be in All Souls Catholic Cemetery in Cottonwood, AZ at a later date.
Chuck was born November 25, 1942, in Bad Axe, MI, the son of John and Eleanor (Cook) Bismack. On September 12, 1964, he married Patricia "Pat" J. Dawson in Royal Oak Michigan.
Chuck graduated from Harbor Beach High School. He then attended and graduated from Ferris State College, where he met Pat at the local Newman Club, the Catholic campus ministry. For most of his career, he was a chemist in the automobile finishes industry. Chuck and Pat retired to Cottonwood, AZ where they enjoyed the company of old friends and made many new friends over two decades. Recently, they chose to move back to the Midwest to be closer to family.
Chuck was a devoted Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus who took great pride in his faith and service to others. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, and fishing, but above all, he cherished spending time with his family. Known for his warm heart, quick wit, and infectious laughter, Chuck brought joy to everyone around him. He was a dedicated member of the Porters of St. Joseph, one of the first groups established at Immaculate Conception in Cottonwood. In addition, he was actively involved in a Parkinson's Support Group, where he found strength, friendship, and encouragement.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia J. Bismack; daughters, Holly Socha of Brookland, AR, Heather (Harland) Haugen of Bellevue, IA, and Penny (Tim) Spehar of Williamston, MI; seven grandchildren, Jamie, Erin, Jacob, Jesse, Zach, Henry, and Katherine; five great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Bismack of Minden City, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John Bismack, and sister, Eleanor Allen.
The family wants to extend a special thank you to, Hospice of Dubuque, No Place Like Home, and Stonehill Homecare.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Hospice of Dubuque.
