Charles Blakely, 60, of Newport, North Carolina, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
A funeral service to honor Charles’ life will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, February 3rd at Munden Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Billy Knox. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through his obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
Charles was born on March 4, 1964, in Morehead City, NC, to the late George and Sarah Blakely. He enjoyed a successful career as an electrician, where he took great pride in his dedication and skill in his profession.
Outside of his work, Charles was a passionate collector who found joy in the thrill of searching for unique treasures. He had a particular fascination with clocks and watches, admiring their artistry and craftsmanship. Additionally, he valued the intricate detailed designs of knives and guns. And nothing was more satisfying than the excitement of discovering rare coins.
Charles will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband for over 34 ½ years, an exceptional father, and a proud grandfather. His legacy of love and commitment to family will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Those remaining to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Angela Blakely; sons, George Dylan Blakely (Evan) and James Casey Blakely, all of Newport, NC; sister, Virginia Morton of Newport, NC; brother, Howard Blakely of Lake City, FL; grandson, Grayson Owen Blakely; and his furry friends, his dog, Bo, and his cat, Boy.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Clarissa Blakely.
