Charles Luther Branton, 78, of Clyde died Sunday, July 31, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Clyde Cemetery with Pastor Ferris Wilks and David Peterson officiating under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Assembly of Yahweh 7th Day Church in Rising Star.
Charles was born August 11, 1943, in Coushatta, Louisiana to Luther and Clothilde "Teal" (Thomas) Branton. He graduated from Fair Park High School in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he was in the Junior Army ROTC. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 until 1965. He married Linnie Goble in Baird on March 16, 1974. They moved to Clyde from Baird in 1979. Charles worked for Top Five Business Products as an electronics technician. He later served in Residential Christian Child Care where he was known as a father to many. He was a member of Assembly of Yahweh in Rising Star.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linnie Branton; children: Ephriam Wayne "Bo" Goss and wife Geyling of Winder Georgia, Charles Lee "Chuck" Branton and wife Valerie of Abilene, Michael Christian Branton of Abilene and Daniel Luther Branton and wife Michele of Baird; brother, Woody Dale Branton of Minneapolis, Minnesota; grandchildren, Bo: Marvin; Chuck: Erin; Ethan; Michael: Lanessa, Myleah, Kennedi, Paislee and Maddox; Daniel: Kaleb, Isaac, Elijah, Jesse Charles, Luke, Ysabelle, Emily, Thomas, Zerah and Hadassah; great grandchildren, Natalie, Sophia, Violet, Matthias, Eli James, Delilah, Michelo and Wesley Charles.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Teal.
