Charles Broughton Obituary
Charles was born June 3, 1943 to the late William Broughton and Willie Sowell Broughton. He was educated in Rowan County schools. Charles retired from Duke Energy as a welder after 25 years of work. He enjoyed wood carving, hunting, fishing and collecting antiques.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Mangum Broughton and sons, Charles and Marshall Broughton.
Surviving is his son, Jason Broughton and wife April of Salisbury, NC; brother, Kenneth Broughton and wife Brenda of Kernersville, NC; grandchildren: Mason, Cody and Jakob; 4 great-grandchildren and special caretaker, Michelle Naylor.
The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM Tuesday, Feb 3, 2026 at Summersett Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1 PM at Summersett Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rev. Mike Motley. Burial will follow at Trading Ford Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Trading Ford Baptist Church, 3600 Long Ferry Road, Salisbury, NC 28146.
