MARION CHARLES "CHARLIE" LEROY BROWN Charles "Charlie" Leroy Brown, 85, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at McLeod Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Shiloh Methodist Church, followed by burial in the Church Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Church. The service will be streamed live on the Richardson Funeral Home (Marion, SC) Facebook page. The family is receiving friends at the home of Larue and Patricia Harper, 5219 Lake Russell Road, Mullins, SC. Mr. Brown was born in Spartanburg, SC a son of the late William H. and Virginia Case Brown. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Brown Landham; and brothers-in-law Carl Brooks, Lavon Brooks, JC Brooks, AB Hucks and sisters-in-law, Ernestine Brooks Lewis and Harriet B. Brogdon Causey. Charlie worked on electric motors, as owner/operator of electric motor repair service in Marion, SC then spent several years working for Harper Electric. He also worked on water pumps, refrigerators, and washing machines with Lamar Skipper at Pee Dee Appliance. He was a veteran, having served as a Specialist with the United States Army, where he learned his trade. He was a member of Shiloh Methodist Church. Charlie loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He loved God with all his heart. Surviving are his wife, Sally Brooks Brown of the home; daughter, Denise Brown Buffkin (James) of Marion; sister, Frances "Frankie" Brown Gaydos (Don) of Buffalo, NY and his many brothers and sisters in laws whom he considered his brothers and sisters: Lamar Skipper "Buster" of Marion, Bobbie Jean Brooks Coker (Bobby) of Loris, Buddy Brooks of Georgia, Ray Brooks of Johnsonville, Leon Brooks of Conway, Patricia Brooks Harper (Larue) of Mullins, Russell Causey of Green Sea, Wanda Brooks Lewis (Mike) of Galivants Ferry, Dianne B. Strickland of Tabor City, NC, and Juanita B. Strickland (Clifford) of Loris; and Harley the Puppy. An online register is available at RichardsonFH.net
