Charles Brown Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Charles Lee Brown, 84, of Corry, PA, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Corry Manor.

He was born April 18, 1941, in Titusville to Elmer and Ruth Spangler Brown. He attended school in Titusville. He worked at various jobs in the Titusville area and was living with his brother and working in California when he was drafted into the army. He served honorably in Vietnam before his discharge.

Following his term in the service he worked at various jobs and settled in Corry, PA. His favorite job was assembling compression engines at Ajax where he worked until the Corry factory was closed. He retired from Save a Lot.

Charles loved the Lord and was very active for many years in the Corry Church of the Nazarene. He became a member of the church of the Nazarene on April 19,1981 under the ministry of Rev. Rip Wright. He served as a trustee under 6 Pastors over a total of 14 years. The Church called him their Prayer Warrior. When he prayed it often felt as if he really touched heaven. In addition, he served as an usher and a member of the Sunday School Board.

Charlie collected nut crackers of all shapes and descriptions, enjoyed Westerns, and before he became ill, he learned to enjoy golfing. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed teasing those he loved. The giveaway that he was fooling was looking at his sparkling blue eyes. They would literally twinkle when he was enjoying his mischief.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Lawrence, Lewis, and Leonard Brown and sisters, Christine Manelick and Nadine Beers.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Litz Brown whom he married August 11, 2011; children Cinda Lingo, Butch Brown, Mark Brown, and Michael Brown; sister, Shirley Cann of Franklin; three brothers, Lloyd of Oregon, James (Beverly) of Centerville PA, Larry (Linda) of Florida, and a brother-in-law Richard Manelick.

In addition, he is survived by five stepchildren, Donald R. Kent II (Elizabeth), Melanie Leofsky (Steve), Annette Daniels (Steve), Matthew Kent (Erin), Joel Kent (Kendra). He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that he loved very much.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Corry Church of the Nazarene, 246 Marion St, Corry, PA 16407 on Wednesday, September 3rd from 10 am until the time of the Celebration of Life there at 11 am. Rev. Shannon Hannah and Rev. Rip Wright will officiate.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the Corry Church of the Nazarene.

Arrangements are under the care of Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St, Corry, PA 16407.
