Charles Bunting, 82 of Poplar Bluff, MO passed away Saturday August 9th, 2025, peacefully at home. Charles was born October 12th, 1942, to Delbert Bunting and Izetta Ward in Broseley MO.
On July 1st, 1961, he was united in marriage to Linda Lewis, she survives of the home. Charles graduated from Broseley High School in 1960, as a young man, served in the United States Navy. In March of 1964 Charles begun his lifelong career at Ozark Border Electric, servicing as a lineman all the way to operations manager until his retirement in December 2003. Charles served on the board of directors for Ozark Border Electric, M&A Electric, and AMEC until July 2025, spanning a 57-year career with the electric co-op association, also a member of the of the Puxico Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and attended Ash Hill Baptist Church. Charles had many passions throughout life to include family, farming, and horses. Charles and Linda spent many years enjoying riding on trails across the country.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Linda; son, Terry (Vicki) Bunting of Sikeston, MO and son-in-law Terril Sentell; brothers, Gary (Kelly) Ward, and Bruce Ward; grandchildren, Zachary (Natasha) Sentell, and Chelsea (John) Miller; great-grandchildren, Zachary & Colton Hargraves, Adalyn Sentell, and Owen and Aria Miller.
Charles is proceeded in death by his parents, Delbert and Izetta; one daughter, Lisa Sentell; and one brother, Larry Ward.
Services facilitated by Rev. Gary Hancock to be held at Cotrell Willow Ridge Funeral & Cremation Services: Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 5-7PM
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 10AM with the final burial at Browns Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, MO.
Pallbearers: Zach Sentell, Jeff Jewell, Randy Hester, Jason Hester, Shawn Hester, Todd Alsup.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations in his name be made to:
