Charles M. Butler, 80, of Danvers, died Monday February 10, 2025 after a period of declining health. He was the beloved husband of 41 years to Linda C. (Castagnetti) Butler.
Raised in Saugus, Charles was the son of the late Herbert and Martile (Bergeron) Butler. He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School Class of 1962 and then attended Burdett College.
Charles started his career of 48 years in the banking industry at Essex Bank. He was a lifetime member of the Danvers Kiwanis Club and also served as past president. Charles also was a longtime member of the Danvers Finance Committee as well as the Danvers Touchdown Club. He also enjoyed traveling and was a car enthusiast.
Charles is survived by his wife Linda of Danvers, his cherished daughter Christina Marie Butler of Danvers, his dear brother John P. Butler of Saugus, his brother-in-law Andrew Paul Castagnetti and his wife Theresa of Medford, his nephew and Godson Andrew Louis Castagnetti of Medford, as well as many loving cousins and dear friends.
Charles' memorial funeral mass will be held at 11AM on Friday February 28, 2025 at St. Mary's Church Lynn followed by burial at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 9-10:30AM at SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME 67 Ocean St (Rt1A.) Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
Those who prefer, memorial donations in Charles' name may be made to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm Methuen at MSPCA.org, or to St Mary's High School Lynn at stmaryslynn.com/give.
