Charles Thomas "Tom" Byrne, 67, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025 in Gaithersburg, Maryland, from prostate cancer.

A native Washingtonian, Tom was a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He graduated as salutatorian from Seaford High School in Seaford, Delaware in 1976, and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, in 1980.

During his career, Tom held accounting positions across Maryland's Eastern Shore, as well as in Washington, D.C., Richmond, Virginia, and Fort Myers, Florida. After retiring in 2014, he returned to Montgomery County, Maryland.

Tom had a lifelong passion for American history-particularly the Civil War-and enjoyed visiting many local and regional battlefields. He was also a proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution. In his leisure time, Tom loved classic movies and old television shows.

He is survived by his two brothers, Robert (Alice) of Williamsburg, Virginia, and James (Susan) of Olney, Maryland, as well as six nieces and nephews: Elliott, Brendan, Charles, James, Deirdre, and Caroline.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 6, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Church in Seaford, Delaware. Family and friends are invited to a luncheon immediately following the service to further celebrate Tom's life.

If you cannot attend the services, St. Luke's Church will be live streaming the service on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064721165196.
