Mary C. Byrne ObituaryMARY C. BYRNE, 78 of Fawn Grove, PA, passed away peacefully in the morning of Sunday, February 23,
2025 in her home. She was the devoted wife of James D. Byrne who died on April 22, 2023.
Born on June 9, 1946 in Kilrush, Clare County, Ireland, she was a daughter of the late James P. Glover and Helena (Kelleher) Glover and immigrated to America in 1953 at the age of 7 with her family. Mary originally
lived in the Irish Community in Queens, NY before moving to Long Island, NY. Mary met her husband when
she was 20, and they were together from that moment until his passing. James later told his wife that it was
love at first sight and actually shared with her that they would marry and live a happy life together. Her family
commented that he was quite persistent and one day she said Yes; this union lasted for 54 years. When her
husband's health began to fail, they left New York and moved to Pennsylvania to be near their daughter and
granddaughter.
Mary was a homemaker and learned to cook from her late mother-in-law. She loved to read and enjoyed
spending time with her grandchildren. Mary attended St. Mary, Pylesville Roman Catholic Church.
She is survived by:
Two children-
Daniel J. Byrne and his wife, Joanna Vasilakos of Hoboken, NJ
Teresa A. Ciesluk of Fawn Grove, PA
Three grandchildren-
Allison Byrne, Lillian Ciesluk and James Byrne
She was preceded in death by her siblings.
In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 www.st.jude.org
